BikeSafe - Course schedule

BikeSafe assessment ride

The courses follow the same structure for each set of dates.

Week 1

An introduction, followed by a look at the Police Standards of Riding as contained in Motorcycle Road Craft. This includes attitudes to driving and how they affect your driving.

Week 2

This concentrates on cornering and the Police System of Motorcycle Control.

Week 3

Covers overtaking and group riding.

The Assessment Ride

This is normally done on the weekend following week 3, there will be a briefing as to what we expect before we go out onto the road.

Initially the police motorcyclist will lead to give the assessed rider the oppurtunity of seeing the system in action, then the assessed rider will take over.

The assessed ride at Peterborough covers about 35 miles and takes into account all types of road except motorway. This ride will take about 1 hour to complete.

On completion of the course riders will be issued a certificate.
