The recruitment process

Stage 1: Your application. You can apply online by selecting the appropriate vacancy and clicking on "Apply Now". Complete the online application form and submit. You will have until 11:59pm on the advertised closing date to submit your application. Once you have submitted your application you will receive a confirmation email.

Stage 2: Shortlisting of your application. The day after the advertised close date all applications will be sent to the relevant line manager to be shortlisted.

Stage 3: Invite to assessment centre or interview. Should you be successfully shortlisted for the post you will be sent an email to invite you to attend either an assessment centre or an interview. You may be sent a link to book your interview slot or you may be sent an interview time. Please read your email carefully. Details of the time, date and location and names of assessment/interview panel. Attached will be directions, a medical questionnaire and any additional information if applicable. If you are unsuccessful you will receive an email from the recruitment team advising you of this. Unfortunately we are unable to give feedback for unsuccessful shortlisting.

Stage 4: If you successfully pass the assessment or interview you shall be contacted by telephone, to be advised that we wish to make a conditional officer. We will also confirm that you are happy for us to contact your references. Should you not successfully pass the assessment or interview, you will receive an email from the recruitment team advising you of the outcome and informing you of how to obtain feedback, if required.

Stage 5: Our administration process. We shall initiate pre-employment checks at this stage, which will include security checks (including finance checks), contacting referees and medical clearance.

Stage 6: Conditional offer. Within 5 working days of receiving your verbal offer you will receive a conditional offer letter from the recruitment team. Please be aware that this is not a final offer and is subject to receipt of satisfactory recruitment checks.

Stage 7: When we are in receipt of all your satisfactory pre-employment checks, and we have received your signed conditional offer letter we will be in touch with you to negotiate a start date. This will be dependant on your personal circumstances (notice period), the requirement of the Line Manager. Once a start date has been agreed we shall forward to you a contract of employment with Cambridgeshire Constabulary.
