Careers with Cambridgeshire Constabulary
Looking for a new career with the police?
If you’re interested in joining the force, why not consider volunteering with the Special Constabulary? Special Constables, or Specials as they’re known, wear the same uniform, carry the same equipment and have the same powers as regular police officers – including the power of arrest.
Being a Special can be just as challenging and rewarding as being part of the regulars. Specials in Cambridgeshire carry out a wide variety of different activities, from walking the beat to carrying out house to house enquiries and providing security at major events such as Peterborough United football matches, our Specials do it all.
Cambridgeshire Constabulary knows where it is going and you can play a major part in helping us get there.
We are looking for people with drive and commitment to help us make Cambridgeshire a safer place to live, work and visit, by reducing crime and disorder, and winning the trust and confidence of the people we serve.
If you can sign up to our values of integrity, respect and sensitivity, then we invite you to look through our recruitment pages and see if there is a position at Cambridgeshire Constabulary for you.
With so many career opportunities, a force which has moved from failing to a success there is no better time to join us.
All Police Officers and Special Constable applicants have samples of their DNA and fingerprints taken during the recruitment process. Currently, these are used for crime scene elimination processes only.
In the future, all Police Officer and Special Constabulary applicants who are given a provisional offer of appointment will have their DNA and fingerprints checked against outstanding crimes before any final offer to appoint is made.
If you join the Constabulary you will be part of a public service organisation. Your photograph will be taken and the force will publish individual photographs on the external website which is open for public access.
Committed to diversity
At Cambridgeshire Constabulary we recruit, retain and develop talented people. Whether you wish to become a police officer or support staff member we promise to provide equality of opportunity. If you can help us to create a safer Cambridgeshire, regardless of your age, beliefs, disability, ethnicity, gender, race or sexual orientation, then we welcome your application.
